Bebras National Finals 2018

Bebras National Finals 2018

Bebras is an international initiative whose goal is to promote Informatics and Computational Thinking especially among teachers and pupils of all ages. Each November there is a 'Bebras challenge' which students can take if they are registered by their school. This year we had a record number of Mount Anville students take the challenge - over 200 in total! Students who score in the top percentile in the country are then invited to take part in the national finals in Maynooth University. There were over 3600 participants in the challenge with only 68 places at the finals up for grabs!

Amazingly, we had a whopping ten qualifiers from Mount Anville! The challenge took place this past Saturday in Maynooth and we are delighted to say that our very own Mia O'Carroll from 4th class became a national champion after achieving the highest score in her age category! It was a fantastic day out and all of our students made us very proud and represented the school fantastically.

All of the participants!
