'Flower Forest'

'Flower Forest'

On Wednesday 12th May we had a very special assembly as we completed the planting of our 'Flower Forest'.

Ms Kavanagh was our 'roving reporter' and streamed live from the garden in to each classroom. Ms Sarah and a group of girls from across the year groups did the honours and 6th class sang some beautiful songs for us.

You will have seen over the weeks our 'Flower Forest' develop and remember that it is in the shape of the Sacred Heart Flower. We have the petals, the stem and the leaves.

Today however we planted a tree in our final planter - the 'Sun'. This planter sits atop of the flower and is a very special one, as it is a place for us to remember loved one's who we don't get to see every day. They may live far away from us, in another county or another country, or they may even be in heaven. The sun represents this for us as we don't always see it every day but we know it is always there. Just like our loved one's.

Our thanks to everyone who has taken part in this project. To Grace in 1st Class for the beautiful gift this morning of a personalised Bird House. Our fantastic PCC - in particular Donna Elias and Polly McCourt. Ms Kavanagh, Ms Beatty, Ms Sarah, Ms Cruite and all our Teachers. Our amazing pupils for being so enthusiastic with their painting and planting and of course to all those who have donated to help fund this project. Our total to date is €1,922.10.

We hope everyone in MAMJS and our wider Sacred Heart Community will enjoy this 'Flower Forest' for many years to come.

Do take a look at the photo's below which show the journey from beginning to completion
