First Mass of 2022/23

First Mass of 2022/23

On Friday 9th September, Fr Donie and MAMJS celebrated our first school mass of the year. Our Prepartory-6th class students, led by Ms Brennan & Ms Lambert’s 6th classes, celebrated our return to this new academic year in song and prayer in our school chapel.

6th class designed hot air balloons to decorate our Sacred Heart Tree, symbolising that all are welcome in the MAMJS community. Each balloon is decorated with the word ‘welcome’ in 27 different languages; many of which are spoken within our school. Inspired by Dr. Seuss, they chose balloons to represent the places we can go and the things we can achieve when we use our minds.

We hope that our 6th class decorations made all our pupils feel welcome and remind everyone of the power of your mind. We are particularly grateful to come together again in our chapel, as we commence a year dedicated to celebrating the Sacred Heart goal of ‘community’. Our thanks to Fr Donie, Ms Sarah, Ms Etáin, Ms Brennan, Ms Lambert and to all our MAMJS teachers and students for joining in this special occassion.
